Information Agent

Definition:

A third-party firm appointed by either the acquiring company or the target company to facilitate communication and dissemination of information to shareholders and other stakeholders during a merger or acquisition process. The Information Agent acts as a neutral intermediary and assists in managing the flow of information, responding to inquiries, and coordinating shareholder communications. Alliance Advisors is one of the largest providers of Information Agent services in the world.
