Advisory Vote

Definition:

A type of vote that is non-binding and serves as a recommendation or expression of shareholder sentiment on a particular matter. Say on Pay votes are often conducted as advisory votes, allowing shareholders to provide input on executive compensation without mandating specific actions by the company’s board of directors.
